the one where Jaycie + Rex get married at the Buddy Holly Performing Arts Center
“Some nights are not meant for sleeping. They are meant for writing and reading Poetry.”

Rex and Jaycie’s wedding night? It was meant for endless dancing and singing at the top of our lungs! So much fun and so many good people together in one space celebrating these two!!!
I’m behind on blogging, social media posts, lunches with friends, HAIRCUTS, even laundry, but I wouldn’t change a thing. My days are spent with Holland, my granddaughter, and it’s the best do-over in the world, taking care of your daughter’s daughter. Seriously. The BEST! So, those of you waiting on the edge of your seats for beautiful images from many beautiful weddings, thank you. Here’s a slideshow to start us off!
Rex is he youngest of the McGehee’s and he got all the attitude and BS of the other 3 boy in his blood times 10! He makes me laugh all the time and he loves Jaycie with all his heart. These two are childhood sweethearts and I love it so so much. They were married this past fall at the Fabulous Buddy Holly Performing Arts Center. You know that big building off the Marsha Sharp with the tornado on the side? Yep. That one. Heirloom in Slaton did the AMAZING florals and the BEST BAND EVER played the music. I think of it as Caldwell Entertainment, however we lost Mr. Don Caldwell so now even though it’s the BEST of that band, it’s not the name anymore. It is now STAGE LEFT PRODUCTIONS | EVENT AND MUSIC. Still kick-ass all the same.
I know I should tag more folks that worked this wedding, like vendors, but honestly? I’m not good at that stuff. I can tag those that helped me photograph this one though. My good friend Nathan from Dallas, who’s an outstanding documentary photographer and another up and coming photographer, Kathleen Bednarz who just recently go her website up. Go and have and look and give these folks some love. I’ll post some of my favorites of their work below.
To view more pictures of Jaycie + Rex, just hit the search bar and you can find their engagement photos as well as Jaycie’s bridals. KILLER GOWN! It was just perfect for her and this wedding.
Okay, on to the sneak peeks! Click that slideshow above, but I’ll share a few of my favs as well.
Love does,
Kristin
I adore details at weddings! And this wedding did NOT disappoint!
Not going to lie, sometimes I’m not impressed by the dresses many bride’s choose. They follow trends, make themselves fit into a design that does not flatter them…all sorts of mistakes. Jaycie picked the PERFECT dress for her. A true ball gown with the flair of a sweet girl. PERFECT.
This is Miss Remi. She’s the BOMB.COM. Love her wild girl spirit and love of life! Her energy is infectious and I could hang out with her constantly, but it would more than likely kill me.
She was delivering a present to the bride from the groom.
the ring
I remember falling in love with this ring at their engagement. STUNNING!
meanwhile…the groom was a grooming.
Not sure what is going on here, but you know me…snap snap snap. I had to.
Jaycie and her mom were sharing a moment here. Something about an earring hole and needing a little help or maybe an ear zit, which I realize is not a very bridal thing to say on a wedding blog, but hey! Zits happen.
the girls
bridesmaids were freezing their butts off in that room, which rarely happens in West Texas, but man! So much fun and laughter!
the flowers...
Danielle and her bunch from Heirloom did not disappoint. HELLO! gorgeous and the room smelled DIVINE!
all the sweet little touches of blue and these ginger jars? PERFECT
Jaycie's MOM
She looks 12. I mean, of course she’s not, but woman! What is your secret to looking young?
the bridal glow!
These two LOVED watching Jayci get ready!
There’s just something about your Daddy. This was a pretty emotional moment and I was there for it!
Oh, what fun we had making these photographs!
We scared this one off though. I don’t blame her. We are a loud intense bunch. Can’t help myself with that Remi, she always makes me wanna have such a good time!
I like this tradition. Recently many couples have written their vows but read them to each other BEFORE the ceremony. Kind of a first look, but without the looking.
Carli, you are gorgeous and glowing preggo! LOVED this dress on you! Carli married Ben and now they have 3 kids. Ben and Rex are brothers.
That’s my BFF JULIE!!! How cool is she? Always rocking the BEST outfits and just the best damn person to have in your court, ring, race, ALL OF IT!
No. Is that Rex biting his lip so he doesn’t cry watching his high school sweetheart walk down the aisle? Nah…
and Jayci’s doing the same! LOVE THIS!
Let’s say some vows, promise forever, and put a ring on it.
WHAT A KISS!
a quick bustle and then on to the celebration!
emotional toasts are ALWAYS the best!
Ben gave a toast with more toast than roast. So that was good.
and the love birds? Simply precious for a cake topper.
and then we danced, and danced and danced!
So cool! They through hats from the balcony which everyone loved! I managed to snag one and I have it in my stash of caps I try to wear every now and again.
Incredible group of friends never left the dance floor which made my job so much fun! Especially when they all sing to each other!
This seems like a good idea, right? Let’s throw baby brother in the air like a true mosh pit! LOL
So thankful I had Nathan and Kathleen on this one. HELLO! You can’t get shots like this alone.
thank you Mr. Fellers. I sure enjoyed the music!
I love this shot! Jaycie truly enjoyed every minute of her wedding day and let it show to everyone!!!!
Everyone stayed to the end and sent the couple off in a fabulous ride driven by the bride’s grandfather. How cool is that?
