the one with Seth and his hair

Seth Satterwhite, Lubbock Cooper Graduate, 2020 is a country boy at heart! When thinking about your Grad Portraits, make sure you show the REAL you! It’s important!

You have to click the link below and scroll through a few pictures to see Seth a few years back. Talk about “coming a long way baby”! But then again, I still see the same crazy kid in these photos!

CLICK HERE TO SEE SETH FROM 4 YEAR’S AGO

CRAZY!

I think it’s important to photograph the family with the graduate because it might be the last time you all are together at your house. Life gets busy, college gets involved and it’s such a great memory to have when they get older and start families of their own. Seth’s family did just that with their oder son, Jodan and again this time as well. (way to go Satterwhite’s!)

THINK ABOUT THAT GRADS.

Enjoy the sneak peek! They posted in crazy order and I’m sharing a TON but I can’t help myself. LOVE THEM SO!

Love Does,
Kristin

Every time I’m around John Michael, which isn’t enough, I immediately get happy. IMMEDIATELY. He’s graduating from TT with a masters and it’s just AWESOME! He has a gorgeous girlfriend and a family that I adore! There’s never enough time when we are all together and I keep thinking someday we sit down and really visit.

In the mean time…

Congratulations, John Michael!

the one with Addi, a SENIOR 2019

kristin_bednarz_lubbock_photographer_20190429_04722.jpg

I can’t believe we are in May. Can you? I’m sitting here in my office for the FIRST TIME ALL WEEK. (Yep. We’ve been short handed at the Bull Stop so I’ve been helping Devin just a bit.). And when I opened my phone and saw MAY, I about died. Holy Smokes! My girls are graduating this month and many others are as well!

This beautiful girl is graduating as well from Slaton High School and we got to hang out together on Monday. HELLO! We did this entire shoot in Slaton, which was so much fun and just so darn cool. I loved every bit of it! Her mom, Brooke, had some great ideas and we ended the session at the auditorium making some kick ass pictures. Addi is in theatre and just so dang lovely through and through.

Best wishes Addi! No mater where you go or land, don’t forget home or just how much fun this sweet little place on the face of the earth can be.

kristin_bednarz_photographer_20190113_05588.jpg

Another Gregory girl is graduating!!! The baby of the family is a senior at LCHS and YES! The girl plays some ball. Like some major bad ass ball. I love that about her! I’m super excited because I get to photograph her game tomorrow night. Lately, I’ve been so busy with work and helping out at The Bull Stop, that I haven’t had time to catch a game. And I HATE that. Here’s hoping the team goes DEEP in the playoffs so I can watch MORE games. Let’s go Lady Pirates!

Okay, so I know she plays ball, I know she plays well, but she also kicks butt in the modeling game. Normally, I have shots in my head ready to try and help work a pose. Not necessary with McKauley. She totally worked it like a pro. And I love how these turned out! Scroll away and if you’d like to see some more of the Gregory Girls? CLICK HERE for Payton and CLICK HERE for Avery.

Haleigh is a senior out at LCHS and on the Pom Squad as well. She’s absolutely GORGEOUS and her daddy and mommy should lock her up immediately. This girl SLAYED her Grad Session! I’m in love with how these turned out. The neat thing? She really wanted to change her hairstyle, but many times a session just doesn’t allow. We booked 2 days to get this done and that way we had the light, the outfits and the hair. BRAVO, Miss Haleigh!!!

I got to photograph his Grad Portrait and we had the best time making images together. Don’t you think he looks totally like a young Mel Gibson?

Yes, I do photograph more then just weddings.

the one with the Arrington Family

20171110_0823.jpg

2 blog posts in 24 hours people.  Hello!  Someone's getting some serious "office time" and I'm so happy!  Office time typically takes place barefoot with music blaring and plenty of time without interruptions.  LOVE me some good office time!  Oh, and coffee.  Yep.  I'm back on the coffee bandwagon.  I know it can cause inflammation which isn't great for someone with an autoimmune disease like Hashimoto's, which I have, but golly folks.  I sure missed it!  And I love sipping it on a cold morning.  So there!

This blog post consists of the Arrington Family.  I had just a little bit of time with this family, as they are super busy and only had 4 PM on a Friday afternoon available. So whatever the weather, we were shooting.  It happened to be overcast which can be good sometimes, but sometimes it can be too dark.  This day almost was, but we still managed and all the photos I'm sharing with you literally took place in the family's backyard or across the street at a neighbor's.  You make do folks.  And honestly?  If you have cute kids?  Who's really looking at the background?  As long as it's not distracting and it provides a safe place without dog doo, you've got this.

Are you thinking about having family photographs made?  If so, give me a call.  I will totally talk you through the process.  It's so much fun and completely painless and most of all, FUN.

Love Does,
Kristin

20170919_0590-Edit.jpg

You can't see them in this opening shot, but just keep scrolling!  This girl has some "gams".  Isn't that what they called them back in the 40's?  This is Bryce.  She's a LCHS GRAD 2018 and such a friend of Claire's, who you met on the blog earlier this month.  Her older sister, Taycon as we fondly call her, is a very good friend of Summer Zoe's.  It's another one of those emotional sessions where the baby sister is grown up and moving on!  Okay, not until May, but still!!!  She's so beautiful and reminds me so much of her momma, Joey.

Thank you, Conley's for being so cool through the years.  We are super glad to know you and I'm super happy you chose me to photograph your gorgeous girls!!!

2017-09-18_0009.jpg

This gorgeous girl is none other than Claire.  I've been following her Instagram feed for quite some time now.  I look forward to her posts and read them and sometimes stew over them in conviction a time or two.  She's graduating this year and I remember when her brother was in school.  He always seemed to have me laughing either with him or at him and Claire?  She's got this utterly goofy side of her that is so dang pretty.  The only way I can describe it.  I think I laugh at the contrast of the beauty to the humor.  You know?

Thank you, Claire for inspring me all the time and for choosing me to photograph your gorgeous self!!! I had so much fun hanging out with you, hearing you laugh and watching you move.

Spring has sprung!  And as always, the "boys of fall" finally have time to get their mugs shot.  Yep.  Boys tend to wait longer then the girls.  And I'm fine with that.  I pulled the files from this cutie's bro's senior session and yep.  March.  Like brother, like brother.

the one with Brynn, my cousin who's making me feel very old

* I scheduled this blog post back in September.   I was traveling a lot this fall and never realized it was still in the "draft" pile.  What?  HELLO!  This deserves a special blog post because she's GORGEOUS.  Her gorgeous paper white skin is like the PERFECT thing to photograph.  I love it so!!!

This is beautiful Brynn.  She belongs to Marcus and Bridgette.  I remember when she was born.  I remember when she went with us to the mountains.  I remember lots of things that involve Brynn and I refuse to believe that she's old enough to leave home and go to college.  REFUSE.  Because if she is, I'm really old.

A couple of weeks ago, I got to go to Granbury and stay the weekend.  Even attended a Granbury Football game!  Brynn plays in the band so I really wanted to watch her march and I did.  They were good!  Very good!  And I should know, thanks to our Pirate Pride Band.  Hello!  I know good bands.

Summer came on Saturday and helped with the session and tagged along.  It was so much fun to see her and all of us hang out together!  I'm thankful that TCU is close to Ft. Worth and that we have family there.  It's comforting.  I was spoiled rotten by Marcus and Bridgette!  HELLO!  We ate like kings!  And just enjoyed visiting and sharing some time together.   I'm glad there's a couple more cousins to photograph in the years to come!

Love Does,

the one with Keegan, LCHS Grad 2017

Lubbock-Senior-Photographer

Keegan is a senior at Lubbock Cooper High School.  I recently donated a Gift Certificate to a benefit for a little boy with cancer.  Keegan's mom won the session and decided that her kid needed graduation pictures.  I'm so glad she did, because I needed to photograph Keegan!

I'm such a voyeur of humans.  I love dissecting their faces and their ticks and the things that make them unique creatures.  We are all created so differently and crafted by His hand in such unique ways.  It's kind of like a game for me.  You know, let's figure out what makes this human special.   I mean we all have eyes, body parts, etc.  What makes this one different?

Right away, 2 minutes in, I noticed that Keegan can totally pull of "the squinch".  You'll notice it in the photos I'm sharing here on this blog.  And he does it without much coaching at all, I might add.  He lost his cousin in a horrible accident a while ago, and in honor of her, he has a tattoo on his wrist.  I really wanted to find a way to showcase that in his session because it's such a part of his life.  And that sideways smile?  Hello!  I'm convinced it's because he incessantly chews on the inside of his lip.

Keegan brought along his friend, King to his session.  I encourage grads to bring friends, family members, along for motivation, help, and extra set of hands.  King did mighty fine holding my reflector to help bring in some interesting light to many of these images.  Thank you, King!  And despite the horrid mosquitos that night, overall it was a great night!

Please make sure you read through Keegan's Q + A.  The questions are in bold, Keegan's answers follow and my commentary is in parenthesis.

Love Does,
Kristin
