Warning: I'm writing this blog post while listening to sappy wedding music. So, it may be a bit sappy. But none the less, HEARTFELT!
Courtney's baby sister, Tori Kay went to school with. my girls. All the Kay girls are gorgeous blondes with a zest for life that is crazy infectious! Laughter + LOVE are BIG in this family. BIG. I found myself right at home and loving every single moment of this gorgeous West Texas affair!
Autumn Oaks is the place I have previously bragged about. Well, their grass at least. I love this space! It's easy for a photographer to go barefoot and there's ample room to get all kinds of photos during the ceremony. I like it when brides plan their weddings here. Lubbock is really pulling out all stops in the wedding game in the last couple of years, don't you think?
Lots of love and work went into this wedding, from all family and friends, The attention to detail was AMAZEBALLS! So much thought was behind so many things. For example, many weddings have a space of honor for family and friends that have passed. Courtney + Kristopher had a table with frames and trinkets, but each frame was hand-picked according to the person of honor and the trinket as well. It was so cool! And I mean, I seriously can't quit thinking about those strawberries that were yes, covered in chocolate. Typical I know, but NO. Not the Kay Wedding, the strawberries had mini-chips on top of them!!! TO DIE FOR should have been their hashtag for life. Just saying.
Best Wishes to these two for a long and happy life together. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for being such cool humans and so much fun to work with. I loved every minute of it!!
PS. Scroll down for picture commentary because I'm "feeling it" today.
Courtney wanted a dress like a princess and boy did she deliver! So, so pretty!
I’m a sucker for layers and texture and this dress delivered!
Skies only West Texas can offer baby! LOVE! Momma and bride had to check out the ceremony site. Decorating had just begun.
Kylee Martin, (I’m sorry I don’t know your married name!) did the makeup and was fabulous! I watched her play ball and knew she could dribble, but contour? Yep. She’s good!
THIS! Laughter and tears all day! I love weddings where people are being REAL.
Gorgeous blonde hair!!!
It’s amazing how many things look fabulous on a gold charger plate.
The guys arrived a bit later and once I met his momma I realized that she was REAL as well. Hugs for her boy!
Courtney + Kris did not see each other before the ceremony, however they did send each other notes. So, so sweet! Most guys don’t react much, but here’s one of Kris “being REAL” even though there’s men in the room. Gotta love that!
Real dads are HEROS.
BOOM! These dresses!
Thank you Summer Zoe for your mono-pod action!
After a few minutes of gorgeous lit photos, we popped inside to start an AWESOME party!
Um, see! Those strawberries I was talking about? YES!!!
LOVE all the faces in these photos. So much family and hugs for everyone! Courtney’s grandma was there and not in the best of health, but definitely in the best of care. Lots of love was surrounding this woman!
When the toasting started, I was stuck on the floor. I always get myself in the weirdest positions. But it proved to be a good space to get all the action.
Sisters give the best speeches!
When your dress is a princess dress, it makes for the BEST dancing pictures!!!
and no wedding reception is complete unless someone is flipping their mane!!! HELLO! LOVE!
Can’t you just feel the fun we were having?
Sparkler send off and BAM! Kiss you man and go away!
and they lived happily ever after!
