the one with tips for your bridal session
Just a quick note to give you a few tips for your upcoming bridal session. I’m so excited! Brides are one of my very favorite things to photograph!!!
be yourself. This is the most important! I want you to have fun and enjoy being all dressed up for the day! I’ll have sheets, towels, things like that, so just bring what you need. Dress, duh? Everything that goes with your dress, jewelry, shoes, etc.
bring an extra pair of shoes for walking. Yes, I will photograph you in your wedding shoes, but for the open fields and walking in between locations, it helps to have a comfortable pair that you don’t mind getting dirty.
makeup. sometimes we “talk it off”, if you know what I mean. Most of the time, it’s just reapplying lip stick or lip balm.
bouquet. This is not mandatory, by any means, but it’s nice to have flowers in your life, don’t you think?
bring a friend, or even mom. It’s totally up to you, but the extra set of hands is nice. You’ve never moved around so much in a dress! And you’ll need someone to bring you sips of water, hold your makeup, reassure you and laugh and cry with you.

That lace! That dress! Her hair!!! Everything about Hannah’s bridal session took my breath away! Not even kidding. She is a gorgeous girl and made a fabulous bride!!! Now that she’s married I can share these photos with you. Make sure to stop and really look at that bouquet her mom created for her. HELLO! Gorgeous!

Last night was so much fun! First of all, I got to photograph a bridal session. And I LOVE bridal sessions! Second of all, it was with a family I’ve worked with before and know and LOVE! That made it even better. We kicked around a few places and just enjoyed our evening! And the bride? GORGEOUS!

the one with Skylar in her gorgeous gown!
She’s getting married today and I’m so happy I get to share these FABULOUS images with you! HELLO! Can we spend a hot minute taking about Ransom Canyon? Can we? I’ve been using it a ton lately for sessions and just love it! It’s a bit of a drive, yes, but so worth the sunset shots you can get. Skylar was a trooper and we even managed to find a few '“blooms” on the way out to the canyon. The indoor shots? Those were made at Sophia’s Place in Lubbock. It’s a great spot when the weather isn’t the best or you need a place for a bride to get dressed. Win win in my book!

She’s married. I’m scheduling this post to release the day Katherine marries Ryan. The rosary she’s holding? Her grandpa made it and it was important to Katherine to use in her wedding. People ask me all the time, “what is your favorite thing to photograph?” And it’s hard to pick just one thing. Each session is a new adventure, and it truly is. But if I had to pick just one thing, I think it would be a bridal. It’s so cool getting to pose them, play with their veil and ultimately make them feel beautiful! It’s seriously like playing with Barbie except she can bend great!
Madi, the bride in these pictures, is Jennifer’s daughter and we used to scrapbook together down at Take One Video when we had the back room. I got to know her and even photographed her wedding when she married Robbie. Now that little girl in the photos is all grown up and getting married! We got together a couple of weeks ago and photographed her bridal portraits

Stunning! Ashley and Ky are already married. They ran off to Hawaii and left me behind. Today is their wedding celebration back in Texas with their dearest family and friends. I’m not bitter. Not one bit. I got to photograph their engagement, her bridals and the party tonight. AND there’s been mention of me getting their first born. Nope. Not bitter about Hawaii at all.

the one where I shoot Haley in a parking garage
I'm so very thankful Haley hired me to photograph her wedding. So very thankful. She's a Cooper Girl and her brother graduated with Kalyn back in 2012. So, we actually photographed a few football things together because HELLO! Cooper! Football! Brother! Were you not listening? LOL. And I loved her spunky spirit and fun personality. Add to that, RED HAIR and well, I was in heaven!!! I love red hair! It's gorgeous! Always...even when messy in the West Texas Wind.
She was married last week. It's been a week and I've been moving, packing, unpacking, cleaning like crazy and spending time with my girls. And well, I forgot to blog her bridal. I thought about it last night while lying in bed. Everyone needs to see these? Everyone. Because, well, West Texas happens all the time around here and you just have to roll with it. I rolled this session right into a parking garage and the image below right? One of my favorites!!! I'm in love with that image!!!
Thank you, Miss Haley, for being so awesome and loving my work, and rocking it like a super model in a dirty garage so I could get my photo fix. I greatly appreciate it.

the one with Rebekah, a bridal in Lubbock
I scheduled this to post the day of Rebekah's wedding. She's MARRIED! This is a special girl to me and our family. She's a dear friend of my daughter's, I've watched her grow into an amazing young lady, and she cooks pretty darn good. Hello!
We spent some time yesterday photographing her bridal. A bridal is a great thing to do before your wedding. For one, you get to test out the hair, the dress, see how long everything takes so you can plan your wedding day. All of that and more.
Shout out to the fabulous Kaylee Rudd for the hair and makeup. and another BIG shoutout to Heather, Rebekah's sister who was an AWESOME photo assistant yesterday. BRAVO, Girl! You totally helped.

Sarah became Mrs. John Paul Longmate today. I scheduled this blog post for today, ceremony time estimated of course, so that I could share her happiness. Hello! She is stunning! I can't wait to get my camera on her again!
We photographed these a few weeks ago, when the world was still green and pretty. We had an overcast day, but we totally didn't care. It even rained for a while at the beginning. She and her STUNNING dress, held up beautifully. I can only imagine the grace I will witness again today.

I've been dying to show off these bridal portraits since the moment I saw them! HELLO! Jessica is getting married today and I'm at home packing my gear, getting ready for her big day and writing this blog post!
I've known Jessica since she was little. Like very little! I lived down the street (ha, FM Road 41!) and her mom and I were good friends. She's a Cooper Girl! (some of the BEST girls in the world) and when she got engaged, I desperately wanted to be a part of her day.
Here we are! Many moons later and she's getting married! Jessica, you are a gorgeous bride! You smile like your Grandmother, Shirley and you have a joy filled spirit that just makes everyone happy. I'm so excited for you!!!

Here's another Cooper girl I've watched grow up! She's was married yesterday and I'm so happy with how these turned out. I fell in love with her dress from the minute she texted me pictures so I could plan our locations. Add to that, she has a fantastic veil that is cathedral and HELLO! I'm in LOVE!

Devin and Devin are married! I'm in Ruidosa with my trusty side kick, Toni and we are having a BLAST!!! I might not come home. Honestly, I might not. A few weeks ago, we photographed the lovely Devin in her gorgeous gown at The Watson Building. Okay, so not ALL of these were taken there. It was blowing dirt like crazy and it worked perfectly for the occasion. Devin was able to et dressed there and we photographed there primarily, and then, when we were brave enough, made our way to the flowers. Thank you, Mr. Hogan!
