the one where I discuss a new photo project

I read somewhere that 95% of what photographers do in their job is admin stuff. Yep. That’s right. Not shooting or honing our photo skills, but book keeping, editing, emails, etc. needless to say, I have to actively think about ways to keep my photo skills growing and progressing. To keep my compositional eye in working mode. This, a photo project.

I set an alarm on my clock and take a photo of what is in front of me each hour. Now sometimes it’s boring. Sometimes it’s the same thing but what this does is force me to compose an interesting shot out of a boring view. It keeps me working towards getting better.

The shot above is my view most days. On my computer, at my desk, slaving away over gorgeous photos of beautiful people.

Next hour, same view but I needed to recompose the image for a different composition. Always more than one side to a story, right?

Next hour, I turned around to see what was behind me. Hubby’s desk is quite the view, no?

Those of you that have been in my home know this view. I won’t go into too many details, but it was indeed a break from my desk.

You get the idea though. It’s a process.I’ll share a gallery of my day every now and then to keep my creative juices flowing.

Have you started a new project? I’d love tO hear about it.

Love does,

Kristin
