the one where Sydni + Braden get married at Kitalou Gin
When someone you love gets married at one of the venues you love, the love just works it’s way through your camera and the photographs you make are just better. They truly are! I’m emotionally attached. I just am. I mean, I’m emotionally attached to all my images, but especially these.
Sydni and Braden were married at Kitalou Gin in July and their entire worlds of family and friends came to spend the weekend celebrating together! It was so much fun and so many tears. Gosh! When her brother Braxton married the lovely Keirsan, I thought that was rough, but golly, Sydni’s dad, Chris giving her away? His oldest daughter? That one ripped a hole immediately in my heart and I even though I was prepared, I kind of wasn’t. I BAWLED. Lucky for me there was a pretty arch of flowers and a HUGE wedding party hiding my face. As a professional photographer, you try and remove your self from the emotion of what is happening, but sometimes you simply can’t. I couldn’t! I couldn’t at Braxton’s wedding, and I darn sure didn’t at this one.
If you were a guest at this event and you saw me, you know that I looked rough. I fully blame Chris Bednarz and his crying, bawling at the viewing of his daughter in her gown. HELLO! RIPPED. And then after reapplying what little makeup I wear, I bawled again during the ceremony. Thank goodness the rest of the day was fun times and dancing!
gorgeous rings!
the girls got ready at Bloomington in Lubbock. I mean, when your sister runs the place, why not?
Summer Zoe with eyebrows on point! HELLO! She never wears much makeup either. Of course she’s beautiful either way.
Mayci sewed Sydni’s hair up into a very cool, gorgeous bridal style! I approved! And yes, you read that right, SEWED. Isn’t that the coolest? She didn’t have all the extra weight of having pins and hair tyes pulling on her head and scalp. She could enjoy her reception and dance her booty off, which she did, and not have to worry about her hair. I LOVE that!
It’s the prefect mix of messy chic! I LOVE how it turned out!
and can we talk for a minute about PJ’s? I know in recent years, it’s trendy to buy robes for the girls, matching of course and use those for the getting ready part. You know, a little something to remember the day + very useful. This wedding? Matching PJ’s! How cool is this!!!! I LOVED how they turned out in the photos! Well played, Sydni, well played!
We have flower girls!!! And they were such helpers all day! They will be greeting guests and basically making the world a better place. GO GIRLS!
S H O E S
need I say more?
Before Dad came in, Sydni had a moment.
I think all brides do at some point? I’m only happy when I’m around to photograph it.
These first looks with dad are KILLING ME. Seriously, I cried like a baby and almost ugly heaved.
Prettiest legs ready to strut their stuff down that aisle!
One of my favorite shots of the day! Everything just screams happiness and LOVE!
Sydni asked her BM’s to pick out their favorite gowns as long as they were metallic in color. How cool is that?
My daughter Summer Zoe is on the left, and Keilie is on the right. These girls have known each other since birth. I’m so happy I remembered to get this photo.
Awesome flowers!
Okay, and now for the littlest of littles that has the BIGGEST of CHARM. This little drop of sweetness belongs to Baylee and Jordan, good friends of the bride. Okay, kind of more then good friends. I mean, when you grow up together, it’s almost like family.
We will not even discuss what is going on in this photo. Nope. Won’t.
Once the guys showed up, things moved quickly. They were a tad bit late, but we managed to get everything photographed we needed.
I love movement in photos. I truly do. And with guys especially, once you get them moving, they become more like themselves. Especially if they are currently wearing suits that they aren’t used to wearing.
and then it was time…
I swear this little flower girl was listening so hard! She was really wanting to do a good job.
She wasn’t sure…but she did it! And did it well.
And then my tears started flowing again. GEEZ…
This was the ONE shot that was requested. Keri (MOB) has an image like this from her wedding with her dad. I think we nailed it. NO?
How gorgeous is Kitalou? It’s like a cathedral inside with the tall ceilings and all. LOVE!
yep. I see a tear in those eyes. (or two)
Chris looks so proud! Just as he should.
and then he thought about what was happening again, and Sydni did too, and I did as well. And then we were all big puddles of tears again.
One of the advantages of getting married at Kitalou is your photographer has access to your ceremony completely. It’s awesome!
These two were quite enjoying themselves!
